Control Systems Engineering, 7th Edition has become the top selling text for this course. It takes a practical approach, presenting clear and complete explanations. Real world examples demonstrate the analysis and design process, while helpful skill assessment exercises, numerous in-chapter examples, review questions and problems reinforce key concepts. A new progressive problem, a solar energy parabolic trough collector, is featured at the end of each chapter. The introductory chapter alone reveals the quality of this text (compare it for instance to Franklin et.al. or Dorf/Bishop). The organization, including the two progressive case studies, is perfect throughout the book. The prerequiste is nothing more than a full course on electric circuits (ideally). I have taken a course in complex analysis, which I would say shed no extra light on the material of this book.
